This is our wishing drum! If you have visited our museum before, no doubt you have been greeted with an invitation to make a wish on the drum. You have to keep your wish a secret, hold it deep in your hear till it comes true. It is also said that you have to be G-O-O-D.
This particular drum was gifted to our museum’s Executive Director, Carl Bornfriend, after his stay with the Hopi in the villiage of Oraibi, Arizona.
The Kiva’s are underground chambers used for religious ceremonies by the men and boys of the tribe.
