These incredibly unique dreamcatchers are a joy to make, but the antlers are not something that come in our typical crafting materials. We’re reaching out to our museum supporters, especially with hunting season being around the corner, and asking for YOUR help!
Got any deer antlers that would make great dreamcatchers like the ones you see here? Help us make them by donating antlers to the museum! We also are willing to take hooves and dew claws for other projects if you’ve not put those to good use yet.
Our staff is always working hard to create incredible pieces to include in the gift shop and one of the more uncommon pieces have been these deer antler dreamcatchers. Designed by our naturalist and spider adoring staff member, Amber explains they are still based off spider webs like the original Ojibwe stories, but cobweb and grass spiders rather than orbweavers.
With their intricate weaving and striking appearance, these very unique dreamcatchers have been a popular item. And we could use YOUR help to make sure they continue to be an item we can provide!
