4 June 2018; Growing the Museum Family

We are adding a new member to the museum staff!

We are overjoyed to be able to announce that the museum will have Barbara Miller as our new Director of Education and Public Relations!

Barbara has been involved with the museum for a number of years and has plenty of experience in organizing events and leading large groups such as founding the Elizabethan Faire at Roanoke Island Festival Park, co-founding the Outer Banks Wedding Association, and organizing a Renaissance Fair for the Weeping Radish.

Her native heritage gives her a clear perspective for museum projects while her work with the Office of Justice Services/Bureau of Indian Affairs in Towaoc, Colorado, gives her a broad understanding of current Native American issues. She is already working with a committee on plans for a Native American Music Festival at the museum next spring that we can’t wait to share details with all of you in the future!

This is an exciting beginning of many wonderful programs planned for the future. We hope that you join us in welcoming her after she joins us June 14th during your next visit!
