Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Frisco Native American Museum by…..

Joining us on an evening Nature Trail night with Backyard Butterflies for a Moth Night!

Naturalists, Nature Lovers, and Citizen Scientists: come join us for a memorable night of magic and mystery as we shine a light to attract moths to a collecting sheet! We’ll be getting up close and personal with these fluttering creatures. Together we’ll learn all about their crucial role in the ecosystem and the importance of native trees needed to sustain their life cycles. We’ll be mastering the art of moth identification and photography. Details to upload and share your photos to an iNaturalist project will be announced.

Attendees will need to bring a flashlight or headlamp. Optional digital camera or macro lens for a cell phone. Participants must dress appropriately. Proper attire is a snug fitting shirt, long pants, sturdy close-toed shoes. Sandals, flip-flops not allowed. Keep areas of exposed skin to a minimum. Insects will crawl in any openings within clothes. Wear insect repellent. Expect it to be buggy around the collecting sheet. All ages welcome but kids under 10 can have sensory issues with the bugs.
