The bottom 2/3 of the image is filled with an extreme close up on a cone of vitex flowers. It stretches left to right across the shot. The flowers are clustered closely together and are a deep, royal purple. Resting on top of the flowers is a small two-spotted bumble bee or Bombus bimaculatus. It’s a small and fuzzy bee that’s very cute and inviting.They’re a common bee here on the outer banks
