An extreme close up on the center of a cutleaf cone flower that hasn’t fully opened. Megachile bees are leaf-cutters and are often difficult to identify to species. It is a fuzzy bee that has similarities to a honey bee. It has stripes on the abdomen, but it is flatter than one would expect with a honey bee.
