SUMMARY:2nd Annual Museum Day
DESCRIPTION:We’re so excited to be offering our 2nd Annual Museum Appreciation Day!\nOn Saturday\, September 27\, 2025\, individuals will have an opportunity to visit the Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center with only a small donation of a non-perishable food item – NO admission fee.  We are pleased to continue the tradition that the Smithsonian Museum Day Live started (and unfortunately no longer sponsors) with a day dedicated to the celebration of exploration and learning. \n\n\n\nArrangements for free admission are easy.  Attendees simply need to bring at least one can of food per person which will be donated to the Hatteras Island Food Pantry.   Of course\, other food pantry items are also welcomed. \n\n\n\nVisitors will  find exhibits\, beautiful art work and displays on Native American culture from tribes across the United States as well as a gallery on the original inhabitants of Hatteras Island.  The Hatteras Island gallery provides an opportunity to “experience” the forest\, sit in a longhouse\, and hear a Native American tale. The gift shop offers a wide array of beautiful items as well as a bookstore.
