1 April 2019; Rattle Class for Native Journeys!

We will be having a special rawhide rattle making class at our event this month!

This is an intense class and will two hours to complete the first part of construction. Participants will be sewing wet rawhide with glover’s needles, which are EXTREMELY sharp. For safety reasons, we are requiring the class to be limited to adults and children 14 and older. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The rattle will need to left to dry through the day before the participants will be able to take their rattle home for the final steps in completion. Full instructions will be handed out to all participants.

Lorri Lee Glennon is a long-time volunteer and supporter of the museum. She is an accomplished artist in many fields. Working primarily in fabric now, she has also created beautiful pieces with beads, paints, photography, and native crafts. Lorri often donates pieces she has made to the museum to help support us through raffles or sales. She is currently working on with us on an addition to our Code Talker Exhibit. Look for an announcement for when it is completed!
