Goldenrod Soldier Beetle (Chauliognathus pensylvanicus)

A native cone of goldenrod features a cluster of golden yellow flowers. A small beetle with black elytra and thin orange border, pronotum in orange with a small double dot mark in the center, and black head inspects the flowers and acts as a pollinator. These are often mistaken for fireflies.
