Hurricane Matthew Recovery Update #4

Update from behind the scenes

If you’ve visited the museum and trails, you’ve seen that our building sits over the beautiful water belonging to one of the tributaries to the sound. However beautiful, that same water has been known to cause its share of damage when it rises a bit farther than we’d like it to.

While this new addition isn’t something that will be easily seen on your next visit, we have decided to completely change the heating and air system to be far out of the reach of the water! This change was unable to occur earlier because of the heavy construction to the walls that would be needed. The mold remediation process (as you’ve seen from earlier posts) forced us to take many of the walls out, leaving the necessary open space for the new duct work!

Just another way that we are choosing to view this recovery as bringing a brighter future to the museum.
