18 September 2017; Code Talker Medals

We still need a few Code Talker Medals to complete our exhibit!

If you have ever participated in a Native event, such as our past Powwows, you would have noticed that every event has at least one daily event where members of the military are asked to come forward so they can be shown honor.

We have decided to incorporate the importance of honoring the warrior culture and the service of the brave Native American men and women by creating a new exhibit. This exhibit will feature the medals presented to the MANY tribes that were Code Talkers in WWI and WWII.

On November 20, 2013, in Emancipation Hall at the U.S. Capitol, 33 tribes were recognized for the dedication and valor of Native American code talkers to the U.S. Armed Services during World Wars I and II. Of the tribes recognized, 25 were presented with their Congressional Gold Medals. ~US Mint Website

We are offering a chance for our patrons to purchase one (or more) of these medals for our exhibit. Not only will you be able to help our exhibit grow, but you will be given the option to have your name displayed under the medal purchased in recognition for your contribution. If you do not wish your name to be displayed, you may also choose the name of a loved one to donate in their spirit.

Below is the list of currently purchased medals that you can see currently displayed in the museum. Please fill out the contact form below if you’re interested in making a donation towards a medal and do not purchase on your own.
