Two of our regular volunteers went above and beyond this year

Those that have come to our past gatherings may remember John Wells from the drum making workshop we’ve held in the past. He and Mim Harmen delighted us by bring a collection of hand-made tools that would have been used by the natives on our island!

 

These lovely examples of Pre-Columbian tools will be used in our future Village Days events!

Scrapers, mallets, gardening tools, gourd canteens, needles, fishing hooks, and so much more! In two of the photos below, you can see that one of the gourds have very dark spots. Those spots are places that the gourd has been repaired in a traditional manner.
